In other news, still busy with editing and printing baseball pictures. Tomorrow or Wednesday, I should have a set posted from a recent softball game, for everyones’ viewing pleasure. 🙂

Finally, another picture-centered article, none of making you all wait with preview posts! Conditions were very good today, allowing for fast shutter speeds, low ISOs, and great character from the players. I believe what I’m going to start doing now is getting half action shots, and half portraits of the players. I need to try to capture the emotion conveyed by the game, not just show all the speed and purely visual flair that is sure to get old if I continue only taking and showing those pictures. There’s only so many ways you can hit a ball, but there are so many more ways the batter and team can react to such a hit.
Anyways, enough rambling, enjoy some pictures. 🙂 All taken with the NEX-7 and Nikon 300mm f/2.8.

Lot’s of pictures taken, but not a lot of time to look through and work with them. But that’s the nature of it, eh? You have to take what you can get, and see what stands out from the rest.
Anyways, going off of that, despite the lack of time to really do anything, I am making progress on my feature article, and hope to have some form of the Nikon 105mm f/1.8 review up sometime next week. Not wanting to leave anyone out in the dark, but I have been super busy with taking, editing, and printing photos lately, and haven’t had a chance to get to finishing up my article for Steve Huff, or completing the Nikon 105mm f/1.8 AI-s quasi-formal review. Big things (and photos) are indeed coming, I just need to take time to make sure everything is looking good before I can relax and work on this site. Despite the biting cold wind from the ever-friendly Canadian front, the game today pressed on (and my uncovered hands are slowly starting to recover). Surprisingly, from a few of my photos, it seemed as if the players weren’t really playing the game. Rather, simply fooling around.
All of the following are meant to be taken as light-hearted jokes, poking fun at how the scene was captured, and not the player themselves. Captioned by yours truly.
“Guys, what’s happening to gravity?”
“But, I don’t want to pitch the ball today.” (Best seen full size to see facial expression)
“So…will it come down any time soon?”
“Johnny, put up your dukes.”
“(Johnny): Uhh…coach?”

I’m a little torn on which lens to start reviewing. So, in the spirit of including the community out there, I want your opinion on which lens I should review first. Cast your vote in the comments! The two lenses I would like to start on are:
A. The Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI-s E-Series
or…
B. The Nikon Nikkor 105mm f/1.8 AI-s

Hello all, no photos today unfortunately, but I thought I would give you a quick little heads up on what I’m working on over the next couple weeks.
I will be writing four reviews on the lenses that I use currently with my Nex-7 (see the “about me” tab for the kit) that should be posted here and/or on Kurt Munger’s photojottings.com website.
In addition, Steve Huff (stevehuffphoto.com) has me working on a feature article going into detail about my sports photography endeavors with my set-up. That one will take a little longer, but I should be able to work on that as I do the lens reviews.
Finally, I’ll be participating in Nick Mayo’s creative project over the weekend, a “Quotography” collaboration, which can be seen here . I’ll make sure to post my results here as well from this fun little challenge. Be sure to join in on the party if you are interested!

And finally, to leave you all, a long-exposure shot at night with a monopod focused on a girl practicing Poi with LED lights. Would’ve have done a little better with a tripod, but hey, can’t have everything. 🙂

Welcome to a new adventure I have embarked on, maintaining a photography blog! Keeping this post short and sweet, and leaving you all with a few of my best photographs I’ve taken so far. One thing I will go for here is quality well over quantity. If I don’t have a picture that blows me away personally, I won’t bother boring you with it. Photos posted here will all have to be cracker-jacks in my book! Just a small bit of background, I’m an upstart sports, event, and general freelance photographer based in Lexington, Kentucky who is hitting the ground running fast in photography.
